The Primary Teacher Training Course is thoughtfully divided into two sections: Course A and Course B, each with 12 modules

Course A

Modules

The Primary Course A deals with the fundamental aspects of teaching like Theories of Learning and Communication Skills to name a few.These modules are designed to equip participants with a set of practical classroom tools that will help them cope with the Primary Classroom.

Evolution of Teaching and Learning Practices
This module familiarizes participants with how the primary education has evolved in India over the years. In particular, a detailed understanding of two premier international curricula currently popular in India. The module traces the fundamental differences between national and international curriculum and nuances of implementable strategies.
What Makes A Good Teacher: Professionalism
This module gives participants an understanding of the impact of quality teaching practices including typical roles and responsibilities, expectations of the employers, deliverables, EQ and ethical practices.
Theories/ approaches of Learning
This module traces the concept of classroom management including strategies and class rituals that include every learner with an eye on developing confidence and social security and the importance of transition activities. It emphasis the role of a teacher as a facilitator as opposed to a “teacher” with a goal for independent learning as opposed to “assisted” learning.
Framework (Scope& Sequence English, Math, Science)
This module quickly enables participants to understand the macro frameworks and how that pans out as yearly, weekly and daily scope and sequence as per a school’s vision keeping in mind that the syllabus typically matches pace with the time available to deliver it. A ready reckoner of subject area milestones based on the relevant age groups
Planning
This module specifically uses the foundation of the macro framework to enable participants to set it in terms of their school culture. Hands-on, this module combines global benchmarks to the Indian context, including how to plan details in terms of the sessions available.
Resources
This module equips participants with tools to source effective and relevant resources that aids the teaching and learning process with quick, ready to use tips and tricks!
Strategies- Transdisciplinary Facilitation
This module focuses on a progressive approach to learning that enables teachers to focus on the macro idea while fine-tuning lines of inquiry and connecting different subjects areas for greater understanding of concepts. Developing Skills and Concepts
This module focuses on hands-on techniques and tools to deliver concepts incorporating multiple intelligences. There are specific scaffolding strategies that can be used that enable all learners to progress.
Communication Skills: Peers, Parents and Students
An important aspect of any profession is the aspect of the communication in everyday life and becoming a teacher makes it imperative for him/her to develop communication skills.
Homework/ Handwriting (Strategies)
This module introduces participants to various schools of thought about the emphasis of homework as reinforcements. It equips teachers with tools to create smart learning assignments for children to hone their understanding and fine tune their application of knowledge.
Guidance and Discipline

Special Needs
This module is a quick overview of the various theories and approaches to managing children who are at risk. These include practical, ready to use tips for teachers when integrating children in their homerooms.

Course B

Modules

The Primary Course B builds on the foundational aspects of Course A to explore a wider set of practices in greater depth.For example, Multiple Intelligences and the Flipped Classroom are strongly emerging trends in the Indian context which expand one’s vision of classroom teaching.

Emotional Intelligence (EQ)
This module enables participants to understand how emotional intelligence translates into productivity and enhanced academic achievement in a school environment and practically demonstrates how this can be executed in a classroom through a series of hands-on activities.
Multiple Intelligences (I)
Tracing research and theory, this module enables participants to differentiate between Learning Styles and MI. The role of MI in a classroom is analysed using a variety of approaches and through interactive case studies, its effectiveness is traced.
Multiple Intelligences (II)
Participants through this module will develop a series of lesson plans factoring in different MI and determine different learning outcomes based on their research and project work.
Learning Styles

Differentiation

Using key life and research skills, project based learning is an ideal strategy for children. How to make it fun, time efficient and productive is the highlight of this module.
Examination Skills
The art of taking an examination efficiently remains not only the responsibility of the learner but also that of the teacher as the responses determine not just acquisition of knowledge and facts but also testing their relevance and applicability. This module traces the framework that teachers can adopt to incorporate various aspects to examination paper setting, line of questioning, answer keys etc.
Assessments (I)
Most educational boards today are adopting a combination of formative and summative assessment formats and this modules traces how a teacher facilitator can use these techniques in context of their existing school structures.
Assessments (II)
An intense and detailed analysis of different formats that exist, how to manage time effectively when plugging these into a school calendar.
Environmental Awareness
The relevance of learning is what modern day educators call life long and result yielding and a large part of all that is exposed to children in school does need to work on environmental awareness given our limited resources and quick depletion of the same. This module focuses on the action component of learning.
